What is an offline donation?
Many donations are made directly to your fundraising pages using a credit card, which is convenient and requires nothing else from you. However, this is not the only way to donate! People can also give you cash and checks, or you can give us money you made from a fundraiser your team put on. Examples:
- Your grandparents still aren't sure how to operate a computer, so instead of donating online they just write you a check instead
- Your friend wants to donate, but doesn't have a credit card. They can just give you cash!
- Bake sales
How do I put an offline donation on DonorDrive?
All offline donations should be put on to DonorDrive before they are given to the Directors of Donation Management. When you log into your DonorDrive account, you'll see a dashboard on the top of your screen. Under the tab for donations, select "Add Offline Donation".
You will be brought to this page, where you will fill out ALL the information requested. We MUST have an address in order to verify the donation. Once you click "Add Donation", it will be considered a pending donation until we verify it.
Who should checks be made out to?
Checks can either be made out to HuskyTHON or Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC). If you need a receipt right away, make it out to HuskyTHON and we'll write you one when you give it to us! However, if the donor wants it to be considered a charitable donation to CCMC, it must be made to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. If the donor provides an email address, they will also receive an official receipt from Childrenls Miracle Network Hospitals.
Where do I bring my offline donations?
The Co-Directors of Donation Management, Ryan and Chris, will hold office hours on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00PM in the Student Organization Center (SOC) where you or your fundraising rep can bring checks or cash! Please put ALL donations into an envelope with your name, your teamls name and fundraising rep, and the amount. If there is more than one donation, make note of the amount of each donation and the person who the donation is for. Any cash or checks can be brought to these office hours unless you go...
You should give any money you receive from canning to you team’s Fundraising Rep! Canning donations go directly through the Student Activities Business Office (SABO) located on the third floor of the Student Union in Room 314. Fundraising reps should fill out the special HuskyTHON deposit slips (like the one pictured below). If more than one person went canning, fill out a deposit slip for each person and make sure to put their name as the organization representative, so we know who the donation goes to! Make sure to indicate that it is one of several donations of the same amount in the description. (I.e. “Deposit 3 of 5” if you’re making deposits for five people.) If you have any questions about canning contact our Director of Canning, Molly Leahy
I still have more questions!
Your fundraising rep may be able to answer many of your questions. If you have any questions that they can't answer, don't hesitate to ask us! Everyone on the fundraising team is excited and willing to help you with whatever you may need. Check out their contact information.
