HuskyTHON is a year long fundraising effort at the University of Connecticut that raises funds for Connecticut Children's Medical Center. We celebrate the year with an eighteen hour dance marathon over the course of a weekend.
From humble beginnings, we've grown to become the largest student-run philanthropy in the state. We're proud of that, but our work is far from over. For as long as kids need hospitals, we'll be around supporting them. And while our efforts are always changing and improving, our core purpose remains the same:
Together with Connecticut Children's, we believe in giving children the care they deserve.
Increase funds and awareness for Connecticut Children's Medical Center
Together we save kids' lives
Connecticut Children's Medical Center is a nationally recognized, non-profit children's hospital and serves as the primary teaching hospital for UConn's School of Medicine. They are one of 170 children's hospitals across the US and Canada that comprise Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
At these hospitals, 62 children are treated by highly trained professionals every minute - that's one child every second.
From cancer to a traumatic injury or a genetic disease, Connecticut Children's always has their doors open and never turns a family away.
How can we save lives? We DANCE! Dance marathons are a growing, nationwide movement that has raised OVER $62 MILLION FTK!!!
Connecticut Children's relies on OUR support and in 2014 UConn students stepped up to the plate and made HuskyTHON the 2nd largest event to support their efforts.
Through our efforts, and the generosity of our families and friends, we are helping Connecticut Children's realize our goal of getting kids healthy and getting kids home. There are no limits to what we will do for a child, but no matter how far we go, it's the trip home that truly heals.
In 2015, it is our goal to make HuskyTHON the event those amazing patient families deserve!
